I’m Marianed, an artist from Mexico now based in Montréal as a permanent resident. For the past few years, I’ve been balancing two worlds—working as a multimedia artist and also leading marketing teams in both Mexico and Montréal. But deep down, my true passion has always been animation, and now I’m fully pivoting back to the creative path I’ve dreamed of since I was a kid.
I was born a daydreamer, always wanting to turn everything I touched into art. Movies shaped my imagination, and my biggest dream has always been to create that same kind of magic through films. Four years ago, I moved to Montréal to push myself out of my comfort zone and pursue my creative career more seriously (even learned to speak french!). I graduated from the 2D/3D Animation program at Rubika Montréal (2024), and now I’m focused on building a career in film and animation—constantly exploring new ways to tell stories and contribute to meaningful projects. I hold a BFA in Visual Arts from UNARTE in Puebla, Mexico. After graduating, I shifted into marketing due to the limited opportunities I could find in the art industry back home. I started with graphic design and eventually became Head of Marketing, managing campaigns and projects across different companies. Still, I never let go of storytelling—I kept creating short films, some of which were selected at festivals like the Morelia International Film Festival (2013, 2016, 2017, 2023, 2024), Short Shorts Mexico (2014), Animasivo (2013), and Nespresso Talents (2018). |
